Becoming an Family History Conference Classes have been chosen to provide instruction to advanced genealogists as well as professional researchers. Instructors include faculty of BYU, professional researchers, and other experts in genealogical and family history research. Each class has been chosen to provide advanced training for the genealogical researcher. You will be able to learn important techniques for research and writing. Those who would like to take the Accredited Genealogist examination can get answers to their questions and concerns. Professional researchers can learn ways to improve their business. The Gala Banquet will be held in the Skyroom Restaurant on the sixth floor of the Wilkinson Center. The Grand Buffet includes: Cheese board with grapes and assorted crackers; whole peeled shrimp on ice with cocktail sauce; house rolls with sweet cream butter; carved roast beef with horseradish jus lie sauce; fettuccine pasta with marinara & Alfredo sauce; seasonal vegetables; breaded sautéed breast of chicken with forest mushroom sauce and couscous; spinach salad with apples, bacon, and cider vinaigrette; tomato, mozzarella, and basil buffet salad; herb roasted potatoes; and warm pumpkin crumble with whipped cream. The Banquet Speakers will be George & Peggy Ryskamp. Travel: Provo is about 50 miles south of Salt Lake International Airport. Transportation is available from a number of companies. If you are driving south on I-15 freeway, take University Parkway Exit #272. It will take you directly to the BYU Campus. Parking: Visitor parking is available on BYU campus north of the Museum of Art and east of the Wilkinson Center. Additional parking will be available on Friday in lot 20 east of the Marriott Center. On Saturday, all student lots are open to the public. Either day, those with Handicapped placards can park in any parking place, except those marked "Service Vehicles." For additional parking information and a map of campus go to http://map.byu.edu/. Meals: Food service is available at the Ernest L. Wilkinson Center, just east of the library. Additional restaurants in all price ranges are available near campus. Don’t miss the Gala Banquet on Friday evening. Accommodations: Provo has a number of excellent hotels. Many provide free shuttle service to BYU Campus. |
