Diana Elder, AGⓇ, is a professional genealogist, teacher, writer, and speaker. She has fourteen years of research experience and holds a credential for genealogy research through the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (ICAPGen). Her area of expertise is the United States Gulf South Region which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
Diana graduated from Brigham Young University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. A lifelong learner and educator she combines her passion for teaching and genealogy in numerous ways. She enjoys speaking at conferences and teaching youth and adults how to find their family. She has helped many extend their pedigrees and solve family history mysteries. She serves as a family history consultant in her LDS ward with the goal to help as many people as possible feel successful in family history. She is the presentation specialist for ICAPGen, educating genealogists in the accreditation process.
Diana co-writes the popular blog, Family Locket, where she shares research tips as well as ideas for creating and sharing family history. She is the principal researcher for Family Locket Genealogists. Diana is a member of the National Genealogical Society, the Utah Genealogical Society, and the Association of Professional Genealogists. She specializes in U.S.research, genealogy consulting & coaching, and is able to do onsite research at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.
